These terms describe what Glaucosim offers, what we promise, and what we don't. By creating an account you agree to them. If you don't, please don't sign up.
Glaucosim is a monitoring tool, not a diagnostic device. It does not diagnose glaucoma, prescribe medication, or replace your ophthalmologist. If your vision changes acutely, your eye is painful, or you suspect an emergency, contact your doctor or an emergency department immediately.
1. What Glaucosim is
Glaucosim is a home glaucoma monitoring platform. We help patients track eye drops, run validated home exams (visual field, acuity, contrast sensitivity, anterior segment selfies, quality-of-life questionnaire, experimental acoustic IOP screen), and surface trends to their clinician.
Glaucosim is currently a research-grade tool. Specific exams (especially the acoustic IOP screen) are experimental and labelled as such inside the app.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or older to use Glaucosim on your own.
- You confirm the medical history you enter is yours and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- If you're a clinician using Glaucosim to follow patients, you confirm you hold a valid license in the jurisdiction where you practice.
3. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password safe. If you suspect unauthorized access, write to hello@glaucosim.com and we'll lock the session.
- One account per person. Sharing an account muddles the data and makes the trends meaningless.
- You can delete your account at any time from the profile drawer. Data is permanently removed within 30 days; audit-log entries we are legally required to keep are anonymized.
4. What we don't do
- We don't replace clinical care. Home exams are a complement, not a substitute for in-clinic ophthalmology.
- We don't store payment cards. Subscriptions, if any, are processed by Stripe; we never see your card data.
- We don't sell your data. Ever. To anyone.
- We don't use your data to train external models unless you explicitly consent.
5. What you agree not to do
- Use the platform on behalf of someone else without their consent.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or republish the tool without permission.
- Inject false data to manipulate cohort analyses.
- Use the platform in ways that violate your local laws.
6. Research participation
If you opt into a research study, you'll see and sign a separate consent specific to that study. Your participation is voluntary, you can withdraw at any time, and data already used in completed analyses cannot be retracted (the analysis is already done).
7. Subscription + cancellation
If your account is paid, you can cancel anytime from the profile drawer. Refunds are pro-rated for the unused portion of the current month. We may end accounts that violate these terms with notice.
8. Liability
Glaucosim is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for: medical decisions you or your clinician make based on home data; loss of data due to events outside our control; service interruptions during planned maintenance.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, you'll see an in-app notice and an email before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the new terms. If you don't accept, delete the account.
